On July 20th, 2018, an ROM dump of early prototype has been released by SNES Central. īoth of them had no intentions of dumping ROMs online, meaning it's still unavailable to the general public. One (2014) was reportedly an early build (from a forum thread that has since been deleted), and the other (unknown date) was a later build that appeared to be incomplete (poor/missing enemy AI etc). Only two prototypes of the Super Nintendo version are known to still exist. A Super Nintendo version was also in development but was cancelled.Īccording to an interview with the programmer Ed Magnin, the game was completed and ready to be approved by Nintendo, but Virgin cancelled it because they "didn't think that they could sell the minimums required for that version". It would have featured more detailed prerendered graphics, as well as a 3D Space Harrier-style bonus stage. The emulator will start playing the game. The Sega 32X version of Spot Goes to Hollywood is an unreleased version of Spot Goes to Hollywood, in turn an isometric sequel to Cool Spot.This version was in development around the same time as the Sega Mega Drive version. Spot Goes to Hollywood is a 1995 platform video game released by Virgin Interactive for the Mega Drive/Genesis, Sega Saturn, and PlayStation.
